Abstract
1,088,885. Transformers and inductors. LICENTIA PATENT - VERWALTUNGSG.m.b.H. Jan. 25, 1965, No. 3175/65. Heading H1T. Clamping of the laminations of a split transformer or reactor core is effected using clamping strips 10 (Fig. 8) round the core cross-section which may provide the sole clamping forces, the members 2, 2<SP>1</SP> being formed as T pieces or angle irons. Members such as 7 (Fig. 2), in the gap between the core halves may be used additionally to pull together the pressure plates 2, 2<SP>1</SP> (Fig. 2) which may be insulated from the core or made of plastics/glass fibre material. Instead of studs 5<SP>1</SP> and tightening nuts 5, the members 2, 2<SP>1</SP> and 7 may be welded together and tightening effected by wedges (11) (Fig. 6A, not shown). Cooling oil may be circulated through the gaps between the core halves where these gaps are not occupied by the clamping equipment. The pressure plates of the upper yoke may be provided with screws to operate on the winding compression plate.
