962,009. Inductors. E. K. COLE Ltd., and A. E. KING. Sept. 18, 1962 [Sept. 23, 1961], No. 34133/61. Heading H1T. An inductance coil assembly comprises a tube 4 of insulating magnetic material (e.g. ferrite) with slots 5 (Fig. 3, not shown), in which conductors 3 are placed to form terminals for the ends 2 of the coil 1. An insulating sleeve 6 or coating may fit around the tube and the whole may be mounted in a screening cam 7 which carries a slug 8 supporting a timing core 10, glued in a recess in the slug. The slug may be made from a metal rod and has slots cut in it to avoid its constituting a short-circuited secondary inside the coil, or it may be of plastic. The slots 5 in the tube may be coated with silver before inserting the conductors 3 by electrolytically coating the outer surface of the tube and grinding away the unwanted silver. One of the terminals 3 may be bent over on assembly to provide an earth connection to the can.
