Abstract
1,216,905. Inductors. TELEFUNKEN PATENTVERWERTUNGS G.m.b.H. 22 March, 1968 [23 March, 1967], No. 13880/68. Heading H1T. A film-type inductor comprises one conductor layer consisting of conductors 2 deposited on support plate 1, a first core layer 3 of ferromagnetic material (e.g. ferrite) deposited over conductor layer 2, a further conductor layer consisting of conductors 4 which adjoin conductors 2 at the edges of the first core layer to form a coil of turns surrounding that core layer, and a second core layer 8 deposited over the conductor layer 4 and in contact with the first core layer over at least a part of its periphery, as at 10. Insulating layers 6, 7, 9 may be provided to separate the conductor layers from the core layers. A further coil of turns surrounding the second core layer may be formed by providing a second pair of conductor layers, similar to layers 2 and 4, on either side of core layer 8. The external connections 5 may be printed on the support plate 1, and other film-type devices may be provided on the same support plate. The conductor layers may be made by screen printing or vapour deposition. The Specification also describes a known construction (Fig. 1, not shown) in which the magnetic core comprises a single ferro-magnetic layer in the form of a rectangular loop, the conductor layers forming a coil which has its turns distributed over all four arms of the loop.
