964,497. Sighting devices. RHEINMETALL G.m.b.H. Oct. 14, 1960 [Oct. 17, 1959], No. 35372/60. Heading F3C. A sighting device, e.g. for a rocket launcher, comprises a sighting tube 7 mounted in brackets 2, 3 fixed to the barrel 1 for rotation about its own axis 5 which is parallel to the barrel axis 6. The backsight is formed by an apertured disc 8 and the foresight comprises a ring 11 provided with a bar 12 provided with apertures 13 corresponding to certain angles of elevation for various distances of the target. If the barrel is tilted angularly, the sighting tube is rotated until the bar 12 is vertical. Instead of the arrangement shown, a telescopic sight may be provided. The sighting tube 7 may serve as a handle for carrying the weapon. The bar 12 and ring 11 may be supported in a cap-shaped part rotatably mounted on the end of the sighting tube 7.
