Abstract
605,272. Gun-sights. SMITH, F. M. Sept. 4, 1945, No. 22794. [Classes 92 (ii) and 119] The front sight of a gun or rifle comprises an annular member or ring fixed to the gun and carrying a plurality of spaced horizontal wires, a -second ring concentric with the fixed ring and having a plurality of parallel wires, and means controlled from the breech end of the gun for rotating the second ring so that its wires present varying angles with those of the fixed ring. In the form shown, a stationary ring portion 17 of the foresight provided with horizontal wires 25 is clamped to the barrel of the gun. A concentric ring 20 having a series of parallel wires 26 is held within the ring 17 and is rotatable by rotation of the shaft 16 fitted with a hand wheel 15. A rear sight 13 having a peep hole lining up with the ring 26a at the centre of the rings 17 and 20 is also provided.
