Abstract
962,400. Liquefied gas - filled lighters. NATIONALE S.A. July 29, 1960, No. 8469/64. Divided out of 963,963. Heading F4F. A valve for filling the reservoir of a lighter with liquefied gas comprises a head 6 having a seal 8 adapted to engage a seat 5 on a transverse wall 4, a stem 7 extending through an aperture 3 in the transverse wall and adapted to be engaged by the connecting piece 12 of a filling vessel, a bore 14 and a lateral passage 15 in the stem for the passage of liquefied gas from the filling vessel and an exhaust bore 17 in the transverse wall within the area bounded by the seat 5. An opening 16 in the valve body faces the lateral passage 15 and a further opening 18 in the valve body is disposed diametrically opposite the first opening 16 and adjacent the exhaust bore 17. The aperture 3 in the transverse wall and the periphery of the stem may be non-circular. A valve in the filling vessel may be opened by displacement of the connecting piece after the opening of the lighter valve.
