Abstract

1319711 Gas lighter filling valve SOC FRANCO - HISPANO - AMERICAINE (FRANCISPAM) 20 April 1971 [24 April 1970] 10279/71 Heading F4F A filling valve for gas fuelled lighters comprises an expansion chamber 4, in which liquefied gas is converted to the gaseous state, which is in communication via a lateral bore 14 with the inlet passage 12 axially bored in a slidable valve member 1 extending through the chamber 4, the outlet of chamber 4 being a narrow elongated annular passage 13. On depression of valve member 1 against valve-closing spring 3, seal 8 in cup member 10 moves to allow fuel flow into the lighter reservoir, gas tightness being achieved by seal 7 at the inlet end of chamber 4 and seal 11 between the valve and lighter body.
