Abstract

1,050,085. Control valves for gas fuelled lighters. MANSEI KOGYO KABUSHIKI KAISHA. Feb. 4, 1964 [Feb. 4, 1963], No. 4767/64. Heading F4F. A fluid flow control valve for gas - fuelled lighters has a sleeve 6 screwed into a housing 1 fixed to fuel reservoir 2, a hollow plug 12 being screwed into sleeve 6 and having a nozzle 19 movable against spring 25 to move member 20 away from valve seat 13<SP>1</SP> of a valve body 11, a hollow boss 8 of sleeve 6 receiving a solid plug 10 and a porous member 31. A stud 29 on plug 10 extends through a hole in member 31 and into a bore 13 in valve body 11. The member 31 is compressed between plug 10 and body 11 to control the rate of flow of fluid through the valve. Plug 10 is rotated to compress the member 31 prior to assembly of the valve and any subsequent adjustment is done by rotating plug 12 and consequently moving body 11. The nozzle 19 is raised against spring 25 to open a passage for the fluid through bore 13 in body 11, between body 11 and nozzle 19, past shoulder 21, through ports 22 and passage 19<SP>1</SP>. A resilient disc 32 on plug 10 may be omitted.
