Abstract

916,002. Valves. REGULATION AUTOMATIQUE. Feb. 13, 1961 [Feb. 17, 1960], No. 5243/61. Class 135. A combined electromagnetic and manually-actuable valve comprises a body 1 having aligned inlet and outlet ports controlled by a manually-rotatable conical plug valve 4 which has a diametral passage 6 alignable with the inlet and outlet ports and a second passage at right-angles to the passage 6 and formed in two sections of which one section opens directly into an upper chamber 19 in the plug, whilst the other section 5 opens through a seat 21 in the chamber, this seat co-operating with an electromagnetically-actuated valve 9. The valve 9 is carried on the armature 8 of a solenoid of which the casing 11 housing the coil 10 is rotatably mounted on a tube 16 and retained against a cap 17 of the plug by a spring 13, whereby the solenoid casing can be held stationary whilst the plug valve is being turned.
