Abstract

926,180. Valves. ROBERT BOSCH G.m.b.H. Dec. 11, 1959 [Dec. 13, 1958], No. 42127/59. Class 135. A pressure relief valve particularly for hydraulic systems and relieving pressure from an inlet 9 to an outlet 10, has a valve member 32 comprising a piston 33 which is subject in a chamber on one side of a seat 19 to the inlet pressure tending to open the valve against a spring 43, the valve member having an extension passing through a chamber 37 on the outlet side of the valve seat this extension providing a damping piston 34 of substantially the same diameter as the seat opening. The outer end of the damping piston communicates through a bore or restriction 40 in the valve member with a space 2 above the piston 33, this space being adapted for connection at 48 to a reservoir.
