Abstract

925,283. Valves. GENERAL MOTORS CORPORATION. Oct. 11, 1961 [Oct. 31, 1960], No. 36471/61. Class 135. [Also in Group XXXII] A fluid-flow control valve comprises a housing 11 having a bore controlled by a valve member 20 loaded by a spring 26. The housing is a forced fit in a valve body 30 which has passages 43, the flow through which is controlled by an annular valve member 42 slidable on the housing and loaded by a spring 45 which abuts a shoulder 46 on the valve housing 11. The valve member 20 is preferably formed with a flange 24 which seats on a shoulder 25 and has an axial bore 27 communicating with a transverse passage 28. The valve is used to control the flow in an hydraulic shock absorber.
