A relief valve comprises a valve housing having a valve seating 3 around a relief port in said housing and a counterbore on the outlet side of the relief port within which a closely fitting thin-walled sleeve 9, formed with longitudinal corrugations or flats, guides a spring closed valve member 1 and provides flow passages sufficient to allow unrestricted flow of the relieved fluid.
