740,193. Check valves. TIDY, B. J. Jan. 22, 1954 [Feb. 16, 1953], No. 1979/54. Class 135. A ball check valve comprises body parts 11, 12 screwed together, a ball 30 coacting with a seat 23 in the part 11, a tubular cage 27 extending from the part 12 and terminating short of the seat 23, the ball being movable into the cage to open, and annularly-spaced fluid passages 40 connecting with the outlet. The ball may be spring-loaded. The ball and the seat may be made of stainless steel and brass respectively.
