Abstract

837,399. Pipe connections. INDUSTRIELE ONDERNEMING WAVIN N.V. Dec. 9, 1958, No. 39679/58. Class 99(1). A branch pipe is connected to a main 1 whilst the latter is in use by a fitting with mating saddles 2, 3 the former being integral with a body 6 in which a plug 8 with a cutter 10 can be screwed downward to trepan the pipe 1. The mating surfaces 13, 14 form a simple stop valve and when in the open position the plug 8 backseats on the cap 18. A sealing ring 15 is provided. If desired the plug 8 can seat directly on the pipe 1 in the shut position.
