Abstract

950,973. Moving-coil loud-speakers. GOODMANS INDUSTRIES Ltd. Sept. 20, 1962 [Aug. 24, 1961], No. 30550/61. Addition to 935,948. Heading H4J. A moving-coil loud-speaker comprises a magnet in a pot and a pole plate formed integrally with the pot, the initially closed end of the pot being opened to a diameter which is less than the internal diameter of the remainder of the pot so as to provide the integral pole plate, and the initially open end of the pot being closed by a separate bottom plate. As described, a disc-like blank is pressed in the cup form 2 (Fig. 2B), a centre hole 3 is pierced in the closed end and the open end is machined as in Fig. 2D. The pot is then compressed to cylindrical form and an annular step 6 (Fig. 3) is formed to fit inside the central aperture of the chassis (not shown). The distorted central hole 3 is reamed as shown at, 5. The bottom plate 9, which is provided with an annular step 8 (Fig. 1B), is pressed into the mouth of the pot as shown in Fig. 3.
