937,032. Valves. MASCHINENFABRIK AUGSBURG-NURNBERG A.G. Aug. 23, 1961 [Sept. 14, 1960], No. 30387/61. Class 135. A pivoted valve for pipes comprises two vanes 2a, 2b both mounted for rotation about a common axis and one or more abutments 9 on one vane 2b to stop movement of the other vane in one direction. The vane 2b has lugs 5 connected by pins 6 to a shaft 3 while the vane 2a has lugs 4 rotatably mounted on the same shaft and a plate 8 by which it is attached to a hollow shaft 7. Stuffing-boxes 11 and 12 are provided and both shafts may alternatively project through the same side of the casing 1. Counterweighted actuating levers 13, 14 may be coupled together by hand or by an electromagnetically actuated mechanism. The vane 2a may form a non-return valve, as shown in Fig. 2, or it may be rotated from its closed position shown in broken lines to engage a stop 10 at the right-hand side of the casing when the vane 2b forms a non-return valve for flow in the opposite direction.
