Abstract

1317706 Semi-rotary actuators GREER HYDRAULICS Inc 11 Feb 1972 [3 March 1971] 6518/72 Heading F1F A semi-rotary actuator, e.g. for a valve, comprises a cylindrical casing 11 with a fixed vane 36, a shaft 29 carrying a vane 32 and rotatable in the casing, and deformable bladders 41, 42, e.g. of natural or synthetic rubber, located in the chambers c, c' defined by the vanes, fluid, e.g. oil, being supplied to and discharged from the bladders through fittings 43, 44 to rotate the shaft in either direction. Rotation of the shaft is limited by engagement of a pin 45 fixed to shaft 29 with either end of an abutment 47 on casing end plate 13. The casing end plates each have mounting flanges 23. In Figs. 5 and 6 (not shown), the bladders have rigid portions (51), (52), engaging the vanes.
