Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a quick closing of a steam stop valve of swing check type by providing a minor valve at a part of the valve element, operating this minor valve with the same power source as for the valve element through coupling it on the shaft for driving the valve element, and by opening the minor valve prior to the valve element.
CONSTITUTION: Arm 21 of the major valve 20 is fitted to the valve driving shaft 16 with keys 18, 19, and the major valve 20 opens and is closed through oscillation with the valve body 11 as valve seat following the rotation of the valve driving shaft. The major valve 20 is provided with a valve seat 28 for the minor valve 27, which is fixed to the valve driving shaft through a key 29. The key groove excavated in the major valve 20 is wider than the widths of keys 18, 19. Accordingly, when the valve driving shaft 16 is moved, the minor valve is opened prior to the major valve 20 to reduce the pressure difference between in front of and behind the major valve 20, so that the unbalance force in the closing direction owing to the steam pressure is reduced. Then the major valve 20 is opened.
