Abstract

934,368. Cartons. BOXFOLDIA Ltd. Sept. 4, 1959 [Sept. 25, 1958], No. 30610/58. Class 18. A carton blank comprises a base panel 10 foldably connected to side panels 11 and end panels 12 which in turn are mutually connected by gussets 15 each consisting of a securing flap 19 and an inner flap 20 separated by diagonal crease 18b and cut line 18a, the securing flap 19 being coated with adhesive 21 by which it is secured to the adjacent end panel 12 with the inner flap 20 overlying it to form a flat readily erectable folded blank, and has crease lines 17 between each securing flap 19 and end panel 12 formed to converge slightly towards the outer edge of the end panel 12. This results in the side and end panels 11, 12 being somewhat upwardly inclined relative to the base 10 in the flat folded blank, so that the erector's fingers can readily engage under the outer edges of the ends 12 to fold them towards each other and thus erect the carton. The diagonal crease 18h and cut line 18a provide in the erected carton an overlap 20a, Fig. 5, which prevents the contents soaking into the material of the carton. The interior of the carton is lined with grease proof paper.
