542,261. Cardboard &c. boxes. ROBINSON, Ltd., E. S. & A., ROBINSON, H. G., and DUFTY, S. Nov. 25, 1940, No. 16899. [Class 18] A cardboard, pasteboard &c. box, carton &c. made from a single blank and adapted to contain powder, is constructed so as to approach the condition of airtightness by using the blank shown, having six side panels 1 ... 5, and 30, extension 7 being secured by adhesive inside panel 3 and extension 6 outside panel 2. The tubular ends are gusseted inwards by pressing the smaller ends so that they fold about lines 19, 20, 34, 35, extension panels 8 ... 10, 12 ... 14 and 31 folding about lines 16, 21, 32, the free ends of panels 10, 14 taking in the pockets formed between panels 3, 5. Tongues f formed by slits d, e serve to obturate in part the spaces between folding-lines 19, 35. A generally similar model but with five side panels is also described.
