931,486. Drives for spinning spindles. O. W. BURKHARDT, [trading as EISENWERK HENSEL BAYREUTH INH DIPL.-ING. BURKHARDT]. Nov. 17, 1961 [Nov. 18, 1960], No. 41299/61. Class 120 (2). In a drive for the spindles of spinning - frames, having two rows of spindles at each side in staggered relation, the spindles are driven in pairs comprising one spindle from each row by separate endless tapes from double pulleys on a shaft extending between the two rows. As shown, Figs. 1, 2, the rows of spindles 5, 6 are at different levels, and for each pair a double driving pulley 10, 11, guide pulleys 13, 15, 14, 16, 17, 18 and tensioning pulleys 19, 20 are provided, pulleys 13, 15, 14, 16 being formed as double pulleys. For spindle 5, a tape from pulley 10 encircles the spindle and returns via pulleys 13, 14, 19; for spindle 6 a separate tape travels from pulley 11 to pulley 18 around the spindle and returns via pulleys 17, 15, 16 and 20. The driving parts are arranged in a housing having cover-plates, 34; these have catches 25, Fig. 5, which can be pushed into a groove 26 to stop the spindle being withdrawn from the housing. The tension exerted by rollers 19, 20 may be adjusted by the arrangement shown in Fig. 1.
