862,592. Drive for spinning spindles. T.M.M. (RESEARCH) Ltd. March 6, 1959 [Dec. 10, 1957], No. 38402/57. Class 120(2) In a spindle-driving arrangement in a spinning &c. machine, to permit the drive to be reversed without having to adjust the jockey-pulley, the spindles at each side of the frame derive their motion from separate longitudinal driving-shafts e.g. 14, each pair of adjacent spindles 10, 11 being driven by a belt 23 passing around two guide pulleys 19, 20 separated by a distance different from that of the corresponding spindles, such that the belt follows a path to and from the spindles which provides a 90 degrees arc of contact in each case. The belt is tensioned by a jockey-pulley 22 set askew in a bracket 161 and the driving pulley is wide enough to take the forward and return runs of the belt. Specification 723,470 is referred to.
