Abstract

1460267 Gill boxes HANSEATISCHER MASCHINENBAU GmbH 18 Sept 1975 38346/75 Heading D1N A gill box comprises a series of faller bars 2 each having a leading row of pins 21/25 which are shorter than a trailing row of pins 22/27, the fallers being driven by endless conveyors, e.g. chains, and cooperating with a cage drum 43 whose hold down members 44 engage between successive rows of long pins without contacting the tips of the short pins, the drawing reach being closely followed by a drawing roller 31 and pressure roller 33, the latter being the larger diameter and arranged such that a radial portion thereof extends over the end of the drawing reach. Cranks 23 on the fallers are guided such that leading and trailing rows of pins follow a common path in a withdrawal zone. The nip of rollers 31, 33 lies a plane tangential to the gill bar tops in the drawing reach.
