Abstract

923,533. Air-lock discharge chambers for furnaces. W. C. HERAEUS G.m.b.H. July 30, 1959 [July 30, 1958], No. 26188/59. Class 51 (2). [Also in Group XXII] A vacuum-casting installation having a chamber 1 which is separable from the furnace chamber 4 and which has to be opened for the removal of filled moulds and contains a carrier 7 for a number of moulds 8 and means whereby a mould can be brought into the filling position, is characterized in that the chamber 1 has at least one secondary chamber 3 which may be sealed off therefrom and which serves for the insertion of empty moulds and the removal of filled moulds. The chamber 1 is connected to the furnace chamber through another secondary chamber 2. The mould carrier is rotatable and vertically reciprocable so that moulds may be moved into and removed from the chambers 2, 3, and carries sealing means 12, 13. At least one other secondary chamber in the path of the mould from chamber 3 to chamber 2 may be fitted with an electrical heating device for degasification of the mould, and inert gas may be supplied to said chamber for rinsing the moulds.
