Abstract

916,231. Cranes. AABACAS ENGINEERING CO. Ltd. March 31, 1959 [Nov. 25, 1958], No. 37965/58. Class 78 (4). A hoisting mechanism has a power-driven turntable provided with means for slewing the load through 360 degrees while it is suspended from the lifting tackle which is disposed on the axis of rotation of the turntable. In the overhead-travelling crane illustrated the turntable carries a yoke 13 embracing a load raised by a block 18 with a swivelling hook. The turntable is driven by a motor 10 through a pinion 9 and ring-gear 14.
