Abstract

1383457 Hoists on vehicles; luffing arm apparatus E T BURVILL 10 Aug 1973 38089/73 Addition to 1082989 Headings B8E and B8H The hoist for lifting invalids into a car of Specification 1,082,989 is modified in that a jib 20 comprising a vertical shaft 23 is attached to an extension 21 of the beam 19 so as to be rotatable about the point of attachment on the longitudinal axis of the shaft. A lifting arm 24 is pivoted at 25 on the jib and has an eye 26 to engage a lifting sling 27. Lifting is effected by a manually operated hydraulic jack 28 engaging the other end of the arm 24.
