Abstract

1,217,953. Jib cranes. ORENSTEIN & KOPPEL A.G. 17 Jan., 1968 [9 Feb., 1967], No. 2519/68. Heading B8B. An excavator converted for use as a crane has a telescopic jib 8 mounted on an inner jib portion 7 of the excavator for pivoting movement about a shaft 9, the jib being moved by one or more hydraulic rams 12 and being provided with a hoist winding drum 16. The excavator comprises a rotatable platform 3, a pedestal 4, a counterweight 5 and a driver's cab 6, the jib portion 7 being pivoted to the pedestal 4 for movement by a ram 15. The shaft 9 is carried by a support 10 which is secured by bolts 11 to the jib portion 7. The jib 8 may be moved to a vertically extending position, Fig. 2 (not shown). A hook 19 may be replaced by an hydraulic grab.
