Abstract

1,048,722. Mobile tower cranes. PRIESTMAN BROTHERS Ltd. Feb. 2, 1965 [Feb. 25, 1964], No. 7816/64. Heading B8B. [Also in Division B7] A tower crane has a bed-plate 16 which is maintained horizontal by adjusting hydraulic rams between the corners of the bed-plate and the crawler tracks on each side (see Division B7) under the control of a master levelling device (see Division G1). In Fig. 1 the superstructure 12 is turntable mounted on the bedplate and carries a tower 13 and luffing jib 18. Alternatively the tower structure is rigidly mounted on the bed-plate and carries at the top a slewing possibly horizontal jib.
