Abstract

1,044,880. Ship's derricks. CONSULMAR S. L. Feb. 10, 1965 [Aug. 12, 1964], No. 32806/64. Heading B8B. A ship's derrick has two booms 6, 7 mounted one above the other on a pillar 1 in such a manner that they can slew through 360 degrees. The boom 6 is pivoted to a tube 2 supported by a bearing 3, and the boom 7 is pivoted to a tube 5 supported by a bearing 4<SP>1</SP>. Winches 18, 24 luff the booms and motors 19, 25 slew them through crown wheels and pinions. The luffing, slewing and hoisting motors are hydraulically driven.
