Abstract

856,536. Jib cranes. SCHIFFSKONSTRUKTION UND ENTWICKLUNG G.m.b.H. July 22, 1958 [July 24, 1957], No. 23512/58. Class 78 (4). A rocker arm 5 is turned about its pivotal connection 2 with the jib 6 of a level-luffing derrick by power driven means (not shown) located adjacent the connection, a cable 7 being secured to the jib and passing over a pulley 12 to a spreader 10 on a mast 9. The jib 6 is universally pivoted at 1, 3 on an arm 4, which is detachably pivoted to a cross member 8 at 14. In a modification, Fig. 3 (not shown), the jib 6 is telescopic and may be luffed to its working position by being extended hydraulically, the cable 7 passing from the mast, over pulley 12 and a second pulley on the jib 6 to the rocker arm 5 adjacent the connection 2.
