Heading B8B A load-carrying boom comprises a swinging arm 21 pivotable about a horizontal axis 11 on a fixed part 1 with a telescopic sliding arm 22 carrying pulleys 23, 37. The boom hangs on a rope 3 which proceeds from a winch 33 over pulleys 37, 34, 38, 35, 39 and 23 and is fixed to the arm 21 at a securing point 24. The boom thus hangs on two rope falls at its outer end and is carried on three rope falls at the end of the arm 21.
