Abstract
914,481. Loom dobbies. RUTI MACHINERY WORKS Ltd. April 13, 1959 [April 11, 1958], No. 12487/59. Class 142 (2). To provide play for engaging and disengaging the hooks in a positive double-lift dobby, the distance between a draw knife and its associated return knife is reduced at the end of the return stroke. The draw knife 3 is actuated from the return knife 2 by a link 1 coupled to a toggle link 6, the knife 3 being carried by a pin 3a. A roller 10 on the link 6 runs on a cam track 11, which is lowered by a cam-operated lever 14 acting through a link 13, thereby allowing the links 1, 6 to move out of alignment to bring the knife 3 nearer to the knife 2. The cam track is lowered when the knives reach both ends of their stroke, but at the end of a drawing stroke the roller 10 lies over the pivot 12 of the cam track, in which position movement of the track has no effect on the toggle. Instead of a movable cam track; a fixed track of suitable profile may be used. Specification 788,910 is referred to.
