Abstract

427,774. Loom dobbies. GROSSENHAINER WEBSTUHL-UND MASCHINENFABRIK AKT.-GES., Grossenhain, Saxony, Germany. Sept. 21, 1934, No. 27197. Convention date, Sept. 29, 1933. [Class 142 (i)] In order that the double - lift principle may be applied to an open-shed positive shedding dobby, means is provided for moving the harness in the lower shed into an end position defined by stops, and holding it there until the shuttle has been picked. The T-lever is connected to upper linked draw bars 11, 16 and lower linked draw bars 12, 19, each bar making a to-and-fro movement for each change of shed. When a bar 16, or 19 moves to the right, it presses the lever 8 against a stop 33 or 33<1>. In order that the lever 8 may be moved against both stops for the lower shed position, additional knives 37, 42 adapted to engage upper projections on the hooks 9, 10 are each moved to the right by link and lever mechanism when a knife 16 or 19 moves to the left. Each hook is held in the raised position irrespective of whether the needle 26 is raised or lowered until the knife 11, or 12 for operating the other hook has moved to the left. As shown, both hooks 9, 10 are raised, the hook 9 being supported by a support 43 pivoted at 46 and linked to a lever 49<11> adapted to be moved to the left by the knife 12 to free the hook 9, while the hook 10 has been already freed by a similar device controlled by the knife 11. In order to avoid heavy strokes, the lines of hook lugs 91, 101 are arranged at an angle to the draw bars 11, 12 so that the healds are accelerated in succession.
