Abstract

240,783. Riera y Cordoba, A. Sept. 30,1924, [Convention date]. Shuttle-changing mechanism.-The shuttle-box bottom 6 is lifted to direct one shuttle out of the box, and the shuttle-box front 13 is lifted to allow of the introduction of another shuttle by a lever 23 constantly oscillated by a cam 21 on the main shaft 19, the operation being controlled by weftfeeler mechanism. As shown, the box bottom 6 is pivoted at 9 and connected at its other end by a rod 11 to a lever 29 pivoted at 24. The shuttle. box front 13 is operated by other similar rods and levers 18, 29, 23 from the cam 20. The rods 11, 18 are pivoted to the levers 29 approximately on the axis of oscillation of the slay 2. The weftfeeler acts through an arm 34 and rod 33 to move levers 32 pivoted at 26, and thus bring the hooks 39, which are pivoted to the levers 29 and slidably connected with the levers 32, into and out of engagement with pins 28 carried by arms 27 of tne levers 23. When the shuttle-box front 13 is lifted, an attached stirrup 40 lifts an arm 41 pivoted on the slay, and on the advance of the slay this arm 41 strikes a screw 43 on a slide 44 and through a double sector 46, 47 and slide 5 pushes the lowest shuttle from the holder 4 into the shuttle box 3.
