Abstract
434,749. Duplex looms with weft-inserting needles. CRABTREE & SON, Ltd., D., and FELTON, W., Hope Works, Dick Lane, Laisterdyke, Bradford, Yorkshire. May 1, 1934, No. 13072. [Class 142 (ii)] Needles 2, 2a are reciprocated through guides C<2> towards and away from one another to insert loops of wefts in two separate fabrics by blocks 5 sliding on rods C<4> and operated by rods 6 and oscillating levers 3, 3a. The lever 3 may be actuated by a crank 7 and be connected by lever mechanism to the lever 3a or separate cranks may be used for operating the two needles. Selvedge shuttles 11, 11<a> mounted on a central guiding-bracket 12 between the two fabrics insert weft in the two weft loops and may be operated by the same rod 13. According to the Provisional Specification, the mechanism for operating one selvedge shuttle may be independent of that for operating the other.
