Abstract

396,961. Shuttleless looms. VERRIERE, L. P. J. A., Mardore, near Pont Trambouze, Rh¶ne, France. Oct. 29, 1932, No. 30421. Convention date, Oct. 31, 1931. [Class 142 (ii).] In shuttleless looms having several wefts carried by bobbins bb and inserted in any desired order the head of the weft-inserting needle has an oblique notch b leading into a slot or eye d guarded by a nose e whereby the needle threads itself at the commencement of its stroke and unthreads itself on its return. The various wefts pass through tensioning devices comprising pressing devices s and flexible springs s<1> and also through thread raising and lowering eyelets s<2>, actuated by cam-controlled pushers r when spring-controlled tappets m on thrust rods n are moved into their path. These tappets m are actuated by strikers k on rods i, one for each weft, controlled by levers hand dobby hooks g. The eyelets s<2> are arranged in palmette form so that when one is raised the corresponding weft is threaded into the needle and is inserted in loop form.
