Abstract
425,498. Ribbon weaving. NICOLET, W., 9, Mozartstrasse, Leipsic, Germany. Nov. 27, 1933, No. 33220. [Classes 142 (ii) and 142 (iv)] A woven ribbon is produced by inserting a loop of weft in a closed shed formed by groups of warp threads 1, 2, Fig. 1, and then, after shedding, inserting a single weft thread between diverging groups of warp threads as shown in Fig. 3, the desired movement being imparted to the warps by guides 3, 4. The limbs of the loop of weft are beaten-up separately and the second limb is engaged by the reed 14 only after an advance movement has been imparted to the fabric. The loops of weft, which are drawn from a stationary supplies, are inserted by two alternately operating eyed rods 6, 60 positioned on opposite sides of the loom and the single wefts are laid by an arm 7 having a weft laying arm 7 which extends to a position immediately below the thread delivery points of the rods 6, 60. The weft loops are retained at the selvedges by vertically movable pins 12. Specifications 262,962, 283,785, and 299,367, [all in Class 142 (ii)], are referred to.
