Abstract
518,678. Shuttleless looms and fabrics made thereon. TURNER & CO., Ltd., L., and DAVIS, H. Aug. 30, 1938, No. 25393. [Classes 142 (ii) and 142 (iv)] A fabric, more particularly a narrow fabric with some elastic warp-threads, has loops of weft thread 11, 12 laid in from the opposite selvages and locked at a point within the fabric. The wefts 11, 12 may be caught at their crossing point by a latch needle 15, Fig. 6, and drawn through a loop formed in the wefts of the previous pick as shown in Fig. 1, only one weft 11, Fig. 7, may be caught by the needle 15 and drawn through a loop formed in the weft 11 of the previous pick as shown in Fig. 2, or a separate warp thread 10<1>, Fig. 3. may be knitted. into a chain the loops 110 of which pass through the bights of both wefts 11, 12 as shown in Fig. 3.
