Abstract

392,709. Figured fabrics. MOORE, W. K., 4, Aytoun Street, Manchester, and ENTWISTLE, W. L., Lincoln Mill, Bolton. March 19, 1932, No. 8228. [Class 142 (iv).] Three strong binding warp threads 4 of cotton, shed regularly as in a plain weave, and thicker figuring warp threads 5, of silk, artificial silk or cotton, shed by a jacquard so as to form floats 7 are interwoven with a gimp weft 6, which stands up as shown at 8 above the figuring floats and protects them. The patterns on the two sides are complementary. The gimp yarn comprises two strands irregularly doubled to produce knots &c. and may be of a different colour to that of the warp 5 and also to that of the warp 4 The fabric may be used for table covers and curtains.
