Figured fabrics; yarns specially twisted, fabrics with; materials, special, fabrics containing.- Ornamental woven fabrics resembling knitted fabrics are produced by using two or more thicli or coarse yarns b preferably of gimp between sucessive fine yarns of cotton and/or worsted &c. a in the warp, and interweaving therewith cotton and/or worsted or wool wefts d and silk or artificial silk wefts c, which are floated in places over the threads b to form prominent loops whilst at other places they form a plain weave with these threads or float under them. The wefts c may float over alternate groups of the threads b as shown, or over successive groups. The threads a, d may be highly twisted. Two picks of weft c and two picks of weft d may be inserted successively. The wefts d form a plain weave with the whole of the warp threads.
