Abstract

204,818. Hedrich, G. Aug. 1, 1922. Shuttle-boxes, lays, shuttleraces; pickers, checking shuttles and pickers.-Relates to looms of the type wherein wefts from stationary bobbins pass through tubes 5, Figs. 1 and 3, which are oscillated by pattern mechanism to present a particular weft to the weft inserter or " shuttle " whereby the weft is inserted in the shed and is afterwards cut off. The " shuttle " 9 is guided by a guide-ledge 10 screwed to the lay and provided with slots to receive the warp threads. Lever - mechanism 53, 52 operated by an eccentric operates lever mechanism 56, 57 for raising a spring-controlled locking-lever 20 engaging an aperture in the " shuttle," which is them moved across the lav on the ledge 10 by a long batting stick 60 on a beater 58 operated by a picking-stick 59. The beater 58 is guided by pins 61 mounted on a plate 62 and on angle-pieces 63 provided with leather bolsters 64 to receive the beater. When the " shuttle " arrives at one of its end positions, it lifts a spring-controlled brake 21, and a hook on the locking- lever 20 drops into the aperture in the shuttle.
