Abstract

578,922. Looms. WILKINSON, T. B. March 20, 1944, No. 5108. [Classes 142 (i) and 142 (ii)] Each weaving unit of a smallware loom is provided with its own jacquard mechanism controlled by a set of common master needles which extend the entire length of the loom. Each unit has the usual harness, griffes 2, and hooks 3. The hooks 3 are controlled by the master needles 8 associated with griffes 9a operated by a cam 10 to exert a pulling motion on the needles against the action of springs 12. Needles 13 co-operate with the usual card cylinder 14 to control the master needles 8. The weft inserting arrangements described in Specification 567,836 may be incorporated in the loom.
