Abstract
998,026. Shuttleless looms. T.E.L.S.A. S.p.A. Jan. 29, 1962 [Jan. 30, 1961], No. 3212/62. Heading D1E. A shuttleless loom has a weft inserting tube C, that beats up the previously laid weft, and pivoted weft-selvedge hooks 82 that hold the weft loops at both sides of the loom. The weft H<SP>11</SP> runs through the centre of the tube C and discharges through an eye 68. In operation the tube C is advanced into the shed by a slide F, operated by a chain 46 and, as it advances, it lays a weft and beats up the previously laid weft. At the far side of the shed the hook 82 is lowered to hold the weft loop as the tube C retracts and, upon full retraction the shed is changed, the first hook 82 is raised to release the held loop and the second hook 82, at the near side of the loom is lowered to hold the loop as the tube C advances to lay and beat up.
