1,130,895. Dummy shuttle looms. WEAVING DEVELOPMENTS Ltd. 4 Oct., 1965 [3 Oct., 1964], No. 40386/64. Heading DIE. In the loom described in Specification 1130892, in which a dummy shuttle takes loops of weft into the shed from opposite ends of the loom alternately and straightens out the loops into single picks, the weft is drawn back after it has become disengaged from the shuttle to bring the end back to the edge of the fabric. For this purpose, a cam operated arm 19 deflects the weft between guide eyes 16, 25. The arm again presses on the weft to keep it taut when the shuttle is returning from the other end of the loom so that the weft cannot droop into the path of the shuttle. The swinging arm 19 may be replaced by an eyelet on a rod moving endwise, or by a jet of air. A stop motion dropper 26 operates if the weft fails.
