Abstract

593,098. Jacquards. SOC. ANON. DES MECANIQUES VERDOL. May 24, 1945, No. 13051. Convention date, April 4, 1944. [Class 142 (i)] A jacquard of the Verdol or similar type, is characterized in that the train of bars 9 is fixed to one end of one or more connecting rods 7 each suspended from the jacquard frame by a link 8 while the other end receives a rectilinear reciprocating movement from a cam 4 mounted on a shaft 3 carried by the jacquard frame and rotating in synchronism with the loom shaft. The train of bars is at its highest position, Fig. 3, when the bars are farthest from the jacquard frame, and as the bars are moved back towards the frame the driver needles 11 are lowered carrying with them the selector needles 12. The bars 9 strike, or do not strike, the driver needles to.put the hooks out of, or into engagement, with the griffes according as the selector needles find, or do not find, a perforation in the paper on the intermittently rotating cylinder of the jacquard.
