862,666. Positive double-lift dobby for looms. STAUBLI, R., STAUBLI, H. H., and STAUBLI, O., (trading as STAUBLI & CO. GEB.]. Feb. 28, 1958 [April 5, 1957], No. 6565/58. Class 142(2) A hook 15, which is not engaged by the associated knife 7 and is raised by a needle 11, is held raised and is pressed towards the usual stop 30 for the baulk lever by a member 17. A cam 27 having a recess 29 actuates a follower 20 carrying the member 17 whereby the member 17 is moved towards and away from the stop 30. The knives are moved to-and-fro and rocked slightly to provide a clearance between the engaging faces of the hooks and the knives by mechanism described in Specification 788,910. The member 17 can be adjusted on the follower 20 by a screw 34. In a second embodiment, Fig. 3, a spring loaded member 14 retains each raised hook 13, and a pivoted lever 37 is engaged by a returning knife 8 and moves the members 14 to free the knives. In each embodiment the jack levers 5 are connected to the healds by levers and interengaging quadrants.
