Abstract
842,818. Gripper shuttle looms. SULZER FRERES S. A. Oct. 7, 1958 [Oct. 30, 1957], No. 31996/58. Class 142(2). Weft cutting shears 57, which normally reciprocate between positions A, B and are operated as they do so by cam grooves 58 in a fixed guide plate 60, can be readily dismantled for repair by raising them to a higher position C and swinging their actuating arm 54 away from the plate 60. To permit this, a link 46 can be unhooked from a cam follower lever 44, and a rack 51 is tapered in cross-section so that it can be turned slightly in its guide. Swinging of the arm 54 during normal working is prevented by constructing it to embrace the edge of the plate 60, or by equivalent detent means on the rack 51. In another form, the guide plate 60 is movable endwise instead of providing extra movement of the shears.
