Abstract

769,112. Centre weft fork motion for looms. HARGREAVES, N. Oct. 31, 1955 [Oct. 29, 1954], No. 31315/54. Class 142 (2). In a centre weft fork motion having a cam slide engaged by a weft fork tippler, the slide is moved positively by the usual motion rod connected to the breast beam in one direction only, movement in the opposite direction being effected by a spring. A further spring 27, as described in Specification 736,771, presses the tippler on to the slide, and an adjustable bar 30 is engaged by the spring just before the fork feels the weft so that the spring pressure is removed from the fork. The slide 16 is moved in one direction by a projection 35 which is engaged by a member 40 sliding on a bar 36 and connected to the motion rod 42. Movement in the opposite direction is effected by a spring 34 connected to the slide by a strap 32.
