Abstract

906,983. Dobbies. SDRUZENI PODNIKU TEXTILNIHO STROJIRENSTVI. Dec. 15, 1958 [Dec. 14, 1957], No. 40273/58. Class 142 (2). In a double-lift positive dobby, a roller 17 revolving round a shaft 18 displaces press levers 14 to disengage lifting hooks 21 from the draw knife 22 that has just completed its return stroke. When the roller 17 has moved past the press levers, the hooks that are to be operated on the next stroke are pulled on to the knife by springs 29, the press levers being moved clear of the hooks by springs 20. If a hook is not to be operated, a buffer 12 controlled by the pattern mechanism prevents movement of the press lever 14, whereby the hook is kept in engagement with a fixed abutment 23. The buffers 12 are carried by leaf springs 13, and can be pushed out of the path of the press levers 14 by needles 11 acted on by trip levers 7. Comb-like cross-bars 32 turn the trip levers 7 anticlockwise, and a bar 30 lifts reading needles 4a carried by feeler levers 4 out of the pattern card 3, causing the ends 4b of the levers to lock the trip levers 7 as shown ; if a reading needle enters a hole in the card when the bar 30 descends, the associated trip lever is released for operation by its spring 9. The lifting hooks 21 are positively operated on the return strokes of the draw knives 22 by comb-like bars 24 moving in unison with the knives and acting on the ends of the balance beams 25. The mechanism enclosed by the chain line C, including the press levers 14, can be lifted out of the machine as a unit.
