Abstract

1,094,019. Double-lift open-shed dobby. ETABLISSEMENTS FUMAT S.A. July 18, 1966 [July 29, 1965], No. 32101/66. Heading D1E. The stops 25, 26 against which the baulks 11 rest (by means of rollers 23, 24) are mounted on a lever operated by a heart-shaped cam so as to rock as the draw knives reverse their movement, thereby rocking the baulks about their mid points 12; the hooks 14 or 15 associated with the drawknife 18 or 19 that is just starting a lifting stroke therefore move at the same speed as the knife for a short distance. during which they can be engaged with the knife with a minimum of clearance between the contacting surfaces. Engagement of the hooks is effected by selector levers 21, 22 which are lifted by a rising stop 25 or 26 and retained by latches 39 controlled by pattern mechanism; when the stop descends as the corresponding knife starts a lifting stroke, any selector levers not held up by their latches press on the tails 14b or 15b of the associated hooks to swing them out of the path of the knife; if a selector lever is held up by its latch, a spring 16 pulls the hook on to the knife. Pattern mechanism. The latches 39 can be operated by Bowden cables from the feeler levers of a lag chain or by electromagnets controlled by a lag chain or perforated paper. As shown in Fig. 10, a perforated paper band is read by contacts 66 and a metal plate 64 for one direction of rotation, and by contacts 65 and a plate 63 when the dobby is reversed.
